Fact-Checking Policy
Publisher: Best Dog Insurance LLC — Allen Lee, Founder
Last reviewed: July 2026
Scope
This policy describes how PoodleInsurance.com verifies factual claims about Poodle health, pet insurance coverage, and pricing context before publication and during updates.
What we verify
- Health claims: hereditary condition prevalence, risk framing, and clinical terminology are verified against veterinary associations, breed registries, and peer-reviewed veterinary literature.
- Insurance mechanics: waiting periods, deductibles, reimbursement, annual limits, and exclusions are verified against the carrier's currently published sample policy or terms of service.
- Pricing context: premium ranges are described as context, not personalized quotes, and are attributed to NAPHIA industry data or the carrier's published quote tool.
- External links: outbound citations are checked for reachability at publication.
Sources we use
Health and insurance claims cite named public sources — including AVMA, AAHA, ACVS, ACVIM, ACVO, OFA, CHIC, the Poodle Club of America, NAPHIA, and carrier-published policy documents. Reddit threads, forum posts, anonymous blogs, and other affiliate sites without underlying citations are not used as primary sources.
Medical review
Medical and health content on this site is informational and based on cited public sources. It is not veterinary advice and has not been reviewed by a veterinarian unless a specific page explicitly names a verified reviewer. Readers should consult a licensed veterinarian for diagnosis or treatment.
Update cadence
Articles are revisited when policy terminology changes, when a cited source is updated, when a carrier's coverage materially changes, or when a reader flags an error. The "Last reviewed" date on a page reflects the most recent update to that page.
Flagging an inaccuracy
If you believe a fact on this site is incorrect, contact us through our Contact page with the URL and the specific claim. Substantive corrections are logged on our Corrections Policy page.
